Sandra read hundreds of books to their youngest daughter, Viola, when she was a toddler.
There were countless days, while Pavlo was away on tour somewhere in the world, Viola would express how much she missed her Daddy. Sandra had a hard time finding a book that spoke to children about having to cope with missing a parent. She would constantly remind her daughter that when Daddy is away, his love stays. One day, Sandra decided to write a book that could possibly let other children know that’s it’s okay to miss a parent when they have to be away.
While this was a very personal book about our family, it turns out, it’s a very familiar theme to traveling or separated parents and especially military families.
The book is light hearted, with added humor – thanks to one very lovable puppy who misses Daddy too.
